Reduce spending. Bring government spending under control and you won’t need to increase taxes. You are driving people from the state to lower tax alternatives!

A mansion tax on anything over $300,000 is absurd. The Governor lives in Greenwich. I’d like him to find a house, let alone a mansion for that price. I hope this bill does not pass as it will be a detriment to so many families already struggling.

Connecticut currently ranks 6th in total tax burden which is driven by property tax and income tax. However, Connecticut is ranked 40th in sales tax and 15th in gas excise tax. If the state needs to raise revenue - look towards those rates.

This is a horrible bill and tax to the people.

You can’t even begin to buy a house in Greenwich for 300k. By that standard every house in Greenwich is a mansion and that’s simply just not true. Some of us have had families that lived here for 50 60 or more years and remember when Greenwich was a humble town. Many of us are still humble and we don’t live in mansions.

I strongly oppose those two bills as they will damage CT economy, trigger more people to sell their properties and relocate to other states, reduce property value (which will hurt all the middle income families), and discourage investment by people and company alike. This further damage CT employment and state’s reputation and image.

I vehemently oppose SB 1024 and SB 171. They are senseless and will do a great deal of damage. CT residents are already leaving the state.

Hartford needs to learn fiscal responsibility! Tax and spend is no way to spend a political career. Do something for your constituents!

As a real estate agent and watching so many people flee the state before the pandemic because of higher taxes I think it’s short sighted and a big mistake to consider more taxes and more state wide control. The pandemic rush will end and sooner rather than later you will run out of people to tax and just be left with folks who can’t afford the taxes. Very short sighted by law makers!!!!
