Oppose Statewide Property Taxes and State Control of Zoning

Decisions are best made at the local level. Hartford does not know Greenwich.

I am opposed to to these bills.

Increases in property taxes encourage people to move out. Also, increased property taxes will cause property values to fall.

This is a terrible and unworkable idea.

I’ve lived in this house for all of my 56 yrs. when my parents bought it in 1964 they paid $26,000. It was considered a starter home. Now it’s a mansion.. That’s highway robbery

I’d like to know how a $300,000 home could be considered a MANSION in Norwalk. Try buying a house for that amount that dosent need at least $50,000. To make it livable!

The State needs below-market-rate housing, and this bill does not create housing for low-income state residents. Also, Hartford is not capable of managing zoning for the entire state; zoning should be in the hands of the capable town citizens.

terrible idea, way to remove local control

Stop this insanity now before more people leave the State. I moved here in 1985 because Connecticut was a desirable place to live. Now over 35 years later, it is hardly recognizable and I-95 and Metro North remain a mess. Address the real issues with responsible governance. Cease and desist forms of social justice while there are true matters that could be addressed such as the pensions sinking the State in lieu of driving more tax payers out of state.

300K is hardly a mansion in Fairfield county!!! $300K - $400K in Stamford will get you a condo or townhouse at best. Can't touch a single family home at that price. Control your spending and if you really need this you have to have an index. In Fairfield county mansions start at $1.2 million.

This needs to be stopped, changing the way of life in our local community is not a good thing

We want diversity in our towns, our children and businesses benefit from diversity of thought and different journeys and perspectives. A new tax on houses 300k and above doesn't accomplish diversity. It more horribly impacts the people you are trying to help.
