Statewide property taxes guts local control of towns, it is wrong, priorities and needs vary from town to town and the local residents should decide.

Sorry, but Looney is loony. Is there any property anywhere in CT under 300K. At a minimum its Fairfield County supporting the rest of the state again. And, I don't want multifamily housing in my single-family neighborhood. Bad Idea

CT is not a police state. Towns and communities are entitled to run their own budgets and impose property tax in accordance with their business and residential needs. There is absolutely no reason for state control of zoning. The more control farther away from the local conditions is a recipe for inefficiency, bloated bureacracy and corruption. We pay state taxes, that's it. Not another penny from our local governments!
