The mansion tax will disproportionately affect Fairfield County. Almost every property- including the majority of modest housing ends up being more than $300k. We are talking about homes that are 1000-1500 square feet on small lots. These are not mansions. Furthermore adding more taxes only makes it harder for businesses to hire help as the state already is unaffordable. Forcing zoning to make multi family housing only adds pressure to already maxed out school systems and removes the small town feel from many of our Connecticut towns. Why must every town become a city?

The only thing these programs will achieve is decreasing the value of CT real estate and its property tax base. These bills will in no way have their desired impact and will absolutely have the opposite effect. People are already moving out of CT due to taxes and this will dramatically increase this migration.

The state should not enact property taxes. They should be controlled by local government. Zoning rules governing multi-family housing should remain with local zoning authorities.

Problems cannot be solved by throwing money at them.

The zoning stuff is being pushed by the anti-'racists'. The anti-'racism' movement is actually a racist movement whose goal is actually to attack capitalism by promoting racism against groups like white people and Asian people. I think it's time for people of all backgrounds to come together and focus on what we have in common rather than our differences.

No new taxes. I oppose the statewide property taxes and state control of zoning. Taxes are already among the highest in the nation, and if you need to balance the budget, CUT SPENDING! We can’t allow this to happen. The state should not be in charge of town zoning or the town property taxes. I will vote against any politicial supporting these bills.

We need less not more government and taxes. We need incentives for job creators to stay in CT (and NY, NJ) and this kind of legislature is really just a one-way ticket south and/or west for many people!!

I oppose any additional property taxes and the state control of zoning. You don't do a very good job now with the money you get from your citizens...more money will just result in more spending. Local entities should be in control of their own zoning and schools.

Very difficult to comprehend the whole concept. I appreciate the needs of the identified entities but not sure that this process won’t create many more in need.
