This proposal is absolutely absurd and further increases the burden on middle class Connecticut. Any home south of Bridgeport is going to have this added tax.

Mansion tax is really a new home owner tax to bail out New Haven~~ zoning is a local issue, I do not want Hartford telling me how I should live

No mansion tax, keep control at the local level. Enough already! Mansion tax, right. I do not live in a mansion, pay very high local property taxes and should not be taxed again by Hartford.

Let’s not create one more reason for people to avoid Connecticut! Legislators; get real. Reach into corporate pockets. Give some oversight to current revenue flow and make sure that existing funds are spent properly. Here’s a brilliant thought.....take a pay cut and actually do some work. You are supposed to work for the good of the State. Do your job.

Implement tolls and improve our roads not this foolish tax hike! Pretty much every house or condo in Stamford, Greenwich, New Canaan, Darien, Wilton and Fairfield exceed the 300/k proposed. We are the only state, except Rhode Island I believe. That doesn't have highway tolls! From Maine to Virginia their are highway tolls. Why not Connecticut??? So foolish! Figure it out Lamont and the rest of you politicians should and will get voted out if you were to approve this!

Leave the Planning and Zoning to the individual towns

Impeach Lamont. No double dipping on our taxes. Town or city tax on property not state.

Another example of the state government attempting to negate both local governments as well as individual rights.

Opposed to mansion tax and decreasing or taking away local zoning regulations

This attempt to centralize government and take away the rights of individuals and towns to decide things for themselves is simply wrong.

My family and I will be forced to move out of Connecticut. Horrible what you are doing to senior citizens.

We pay enough taxes! We are not rich we live in an expensive area and we have worked our butts off to live here, why should we be penalized for that. How long does Fairfield county have to carry the state!
