I totally agree, putting up a large glass structure will most Definatly.... Take awY from our small town feel. It won't take long for the delvelopers to move in and take over once this plan has been put into final motion.

I live in the "Parking Lot Area" of old Downtown formerly know as the "Park District", where trees are removed to make room for barely used parking lots; where houses are coming down and being replaced by Monster homes or single family lots are being subdivided to accommodate developers or mandates for higher density; In Georgetown where a Seed House is no more, a Memorial Arena is left to memory, The Barber Old Mill lies in ruins, why should The Gib be any different? Apparently heritage in Georgetown is rather subjective!

We moved out of the city to Georgetown because of the small town feeling. Please don't change it.

We need to respect the aesthetics of our unique and historical downtown core. Towns are not built with such class anymore. The historical value of our Main Street is priceless!

Save the Glass Monster for a different site, have retail stores on the ground floor and surround the building with with trees.........this is where such a building would be great........Downtown Georgetown it is totally inappropriate and out of place. Even the architect of the glass structure should be able to see that and want his building to be elsewhere.

I understand progress however, I've always felt the modern design is unattractive, doesn't fit in the downtown area. More of an effort should be made to draw the area together with a building that accentuates the look. Many of the buildings are already out of place architecturally. Something to pull it together would be good.

I am not a fan of the McGibbon but Do not want a City here. I moved to a smaller town for the small town not to see a city go up.

I think the proposed development is wrong for this property and would ruin the character of downtown Georgetown. I would hope to see something that would fit in better and suit the surrounding area.

you can build highrise on any land. You do not have to destroy our downtown.

Why must we always develop on any inch of land we see????

I'm opposed to the drawings as they appear. The glass high rise will not fit in with the town's historical facade.

We don't have to build just because we can. We live here because it's a nice small town. Please leave it this way.

I too came from the city 12 years ago to raise my family in a quaint small town feel. I am all for growth but this condo is way out of proportion for the main street. I propose just re-vamping this heritage building bur keep the character to pour town.
