The new design is awful. Out of place in such a beautiful quaint area.

It will destroy our downtown and any future opportunity for film and tv productions there... You can't edit out an 11 storey condo.

I grow up in this town and I never Thought That the town would take us in this direction

Seems we have spent years keeping our heritage in Downtown Georgetown. This building tower of glass does not belong. have saw many oldr downtown areas incorporate timeless designs that suit the areas they are in. need to go back to drawing board! i have lived in Gtwn all my live as have my parents. we are 4th generation family! Please do not bring this eyesore to downtown are.

Keep downtiwn Georgetown looking historic!!! The rest of the town is being chopped and divided. Leave downtown looking balanced and uniformed!

This is Georgetown that building is going to look like an eyesore. Where are people parking underground?

Other towns don't destroy the old parts of their towns. So why do we? Downtown Georgetown is beautiful the way it is! Adding those apartments will not only make Georgetown more expensive then it already is but will also drive out those who enjoy the subtle beauty of an old town. Not to mention they'll also stick out like a sore thumb.

The McGibbon doesn't need anything on top of it it can do with an interior upgrade yes, but a whole new structure no it is not needed. It has been one of the biggest heritage points in Georgetown we already lost the memorial arena, lets not let them take the McGibbon. I'm 25 years old I've lived my whole life in Georgetown and the McGibbon has always been a landmark for downtown Georgetown

The proposed condos do not fit into the look or feel of downtown georgetown.

Downtown gtown does not have the street place for such a building. What would happen to the farmers market?

Don't turn the "town" into a city. I moved here 14 years ago because of the small town feel...you let one build they will all come!! Keep the McGibnon the way it is :)

The historical buildings in Georgetown, such as the McGibbon should be protected, and not demolished. Georgetown's downtown is beautiful, and charming- keep it that way.

I'm not opposed to development, but we live in the downtown area and the businesses downtown are a part of our everyday life. If radically modern development interrupts the historic, quaint beauty of the downtown area, the economic results might be devastating to local business, including not just the year-round businesses, but the farmers market vendors as well. A condo building that honours and compliments the historic and quaint feel of downtown would be more suited to the town. The town houses on James Street near Main have high real estate value not just because of their location, but because they have a charm to them that is complimentary to the downtown area, and are attractive to potential buyers. A charming, complimentary design to the downtown area would match the beauty of downtown, and give developers something unique to offer to potential buyers - a place to live that is convenient, as well as attractive. In my opinion, development can result in one of two possible outcomes: a building that people see as an eye sore and think "what a shame" when they come to downtown; or one that compliments downtown and causes people to admire the architectural design and continue to enjoy the overall beauty of downtown. I fear the direction we are heading is toward an eye sore.

If this monster goes ahead it will open up the floodgates for more development on Main St . We should be preserving what we have for future generations not destroying it .
