I think the glass tower is a eye sore. Over the years the Main St. has been made lovely and I think the hotel should be in keeping with such a nice area

The proposed structure does not fit the downtown location, too large, architecturally unsuitable, will create parking problems and will disrupt the downtown core for a long period. The building facility is needed in Georgetown but not in this location.

Georgetown is a quaint small town. This kind of growth and development will destroy that, particularly if done in a way that fails to respect our town's history and foundation, as well as the businesses, downtown aesthetic and small-town culture that is so unique to the downtown georgetown area

I am in no way supportive of this plan. Downtown Georgetown is one of the main reasons why I moved my family here 4 years ago. If I wanted to see condos I would have stayed in Mississauga. Is nothing sacred any more? We all need to show up to this meeting on the 1st!

the developer needs to keep the old building as is,fix what can be fixed.. how bad can it be if people are living in it now and if building out the back, leave the existing building as it is and match the brick.

I agree with development of the McGibbon but the proposed condo structure is oppressive and does not suit our quaint downtown. I live in the Park area and currently enjoy downtown Georgetown because there is less traffic, I can walk to the shops/restaurants and it has a lovely small-town vibe. This will definitely change for the worse with the proposed changes to the McGibbon

Under the strategic objectives under Urban Character
A2.3.2 g) "To ensure that new development areas are integrated into the fabric of the existing community."
This development is not consistent with the OP strategic objective, which is to ensure that new development area are integrated into the fabric of the existing community.
Not only is the McGibbon Hotel full of history and has been a landmark within Georgetown's downtown area, this new proposed development will look out of place with the existing 2-3 storey buildings already existing on Main Street.
Another goal under the Official Plan in section A2.6 - Cultural heritage
A2.6.1 "To identify, conserve and enhance the Town’s cultural heritage resources and promote their value and benefit to the community."
There are a lot of things to consider before allowing this property to be rezoned. This property should be considered as a designated heritage site.

In full support to stop this project from ever happening. Too much oversight, not enough public consideration and disrespect to the area.
Could we even support the traffic flow during and after construction? We can barely get through town at 5oclock as is...
Make the changes that need to happen, not this modernized, posh looking cash grab that does not belong.

I think 11 Stories is too high! The look of this building needs to be taken into careful consideration - especially how it will affect the neighbouring homes...
