The downtown strip is 250 feet long 2 stories high. I believe this proposed development will congest the core and take away a lot of the available parking not to mention an eye sore to our small and quaint downtown. How about the birds flying into the glass structure. We were told they look to Toronto for ideas, we don't live there and don't want to be like Toronto. I highly resent the entire development.

I moved to this town because it had a small town feel but still has a classy feel. This building will make it feel like Toronto and that is why most of live here because it isn't Toronto. This will change our town and although we want to be progressive we want the small town look and feel.

I love downtown Georgetown and yes it could use some improvement but not what Silvercreek Development has in mind.

All to many times have we lost our innocence and gave away our heritage to these folks that just want to come in tear down to make space for something new, and that is why they say you can never return home, I look at this pic and it's not the beautiful town of which I grew up in and many like me. I was so shocked to see the Old Arena and Pool had been torn down and for what. That was the "Home of the Little NHL" Gordie Howe among many NHL players showed up there and gave some of us young kids free lessons try that today. And summer time Roler Skating to Big Girls don't Cry all gone that Bldg could have been kept as well and reperposed if not kept as a over load rink for smaller kids and Roller skating, same as the outdoor pool ahhhh summertime fun and an out door public pool, better than any indoor pool anyday, except the winter. So folks keep the Old just repurpose it.

I don't know if anyone who is considering this project as a place to live in, have thought about what the view above the third floor will look like in all directions. Maybe those excited future owners need to try Google earth for a birdseye view. If that doesn't work maybe a small drone will illustrate just how terrible the site is. Assuming the cost for purchasing goes up as usual per floor, so does the truly bad views in all directions. From a marketing stand point I can't imagine trying to sell this concept. Office buildings, retail store fronts, hundred year old roofs with all the trimmings, parking lot and older apartments to name just a view of the visual eye sores. Really ! Now, this is just the opinion from someone , who has been in the business of marketing and selling real estate for 35 years.

I live on Main Street in the heart of old Georgetown and feel that the new structure would indeed take away from the atmosphere and the existing feel of downtown. Building is important but so is keeping the historical feel of the downtown area.

It is doubtful that local businesses will survive the congestion and inconvenience that the years of construction will bring despite developer promises to the contrary. When people become accustomed to shopping elsewhere during the disruption they won't come back any time soon after the project is finished. Parking downtown is an issue now an we fail to see how this project will do anything to alleviate this situation. The building design is not in keeping with the Main Street heritage; it is ugly!
The bait and switch strategy of this developer should be a warning as to the credibility of promises or commitments going forward on this proposed project which hopefully it will not.
