I grew up near this beach when it was called Municipal Beach and still enjoy swimming and walking there often. It is a gem - a special place.

No privatization of Sunset Beach! If 10 more volleyball courts are erected taking over half of the beach then less than half of the beach is left for sunbathing families, and many other water sport people and their equipment! How sad that all this special attention is being given to this unknown sport! Ia it because the mayors child plays in this league!

This beach should be kept public as beautiful park for picnics, boating, sunbathing , walking your dog, a wimping, family fun !! I am ok with 2 volleyball courts but not privatizing the beach to volleyball. There are sand courts on canal road for volleyball. Don't take away our only decent beach. Lakeside Park is pretty much gone, Jones Beach is all condos and only one left is Sunset Beach.

When I visit St Catherine's one of my family's greatest times is spent on the public beach. That's what it is and what it should remain for all. I ask you reconsider profit over family's and communities

Our last few remaining public access waterfronts need to stay public for use by all.

All of our public access waterfronts are for EVERYONE! Access to free and unfettered waterfront is my right. If the City is so desperate to make money then charge an admission fee to the beach to cover cleaning and grooming costs. Put a concession stand on the beach for the best of the swimming season. Talk to other 'summer activity' suppliers such as paddleboat operators, windsurfers, water skiing pros to see if they would like to 'buy' a licence to operate along the waterfront. Don't just engage in knee-jerk reactions and give away half of the beach and land to one group because of the lure of instant cash. When is our City going to start planning for the long-term benefits and not the short-term win?

Too much of the Lake Ontario shoreline is already inaccessible to citizens, and polluted because of unchecked industry. Keep the beach open!

We have to preserve family meeting places for ourselves. children & grandchildren. Enough of taking over children's play space.

I moved to St.Catharines, a city I had never been to before and bought my house on beachaven 8 years ago because of that beach! When my realtor sent me the listing I did a satellite view of the area and fell in love with our beach before I was able to see it in person! That beach is the reason I live in St.Catharines. Please dont let them take it from us!
