First we go through an unnecessary name change! Now someone wants to take it away from public access!!! It has been a beautiful spot to go sit and relax in the warm months. Don't take it away and privatize it. Keep it a public beach for everyone to enjoy. Build your volleyball courts elsewhere!!!

I purchased my home 25 years ago based on being close to a public beach I am AGAINST the privatization of our beach.

My kids grew up on this beach and even now that we moved to Fonthill I regularly come to sit and enjoy the beautiful sunsets and walks through the white warm sand. My children are now adults and still spend time there as well
keep this beach open to the public!!

I do not support the privatization of this beach. It should be a space that all individuals in the community are free to access. No Privitization.

It is very important that you also send an email to this contact as she will be taking comments from emailed responses and including them in her report to City Council before they vote. This is even more important than signing the petition here although that is very important to do also. :)

I lived in St. Catharines for 12 years, I now live in Sarnia, however I still travel back there to visit my daughter and grand kids (very frequently)! DO NOT let it be privatized!!! It is a lovely family beach! The beach at PORT has been taken over by volleyball! Enough is enough!

Winnipeg has built ten land locked courts at Sargent Park for the 2017 CANADA GAMES which they will proudly host this year but they did not give up an inch of their precious beaches.
Many other communities also know that you only need sand for beach volleyball. Across North America unused and neglected tennis courts are being turned into beach volleyball courts as the popularity of the sports increases.
Volleyball is awesome but you know what is more awesome. Going to a beach and being able to use it and this beach is used.

I've enjoyed that beach over fifty years. It is a real gem and belongs to the public. Save the beach for the public enjoyment.

We are not just talking about a beach but a community beach. An inclusive beach used by many year round and used heavily in the summer months by many more for activities such as jet skiing, kayaking, power boating, sailing, RC aircraft, yoga, kite surfing, paddle boarding, fitness training, and of course butts in sand and the use of the water. What is common with all the above mentioned groups is that when they leave the beach is restored to how it was before they came. The next morning the Parks crews rake the beach and it is ready for another day and new visitors with the same or different goals.. This beach is used by people all over Niagara and outside of Niagara as well. What's worse is the City admitted they have done no studies on how this beach is used and do not have a master plan but assured us that if when they do have a plan if the courts do not fit in they can be removed. Do you believe them? I don't. No plan. Thank god these people didn't plan the Canadian assault on Juno Beach because they sure have heck have let their no plan allow assault this beach..

Same here. I launch off of this beach and if you find me a KM out you know something went wrong that day.
