That's one of the issues as not one politician that has made a statement pro or con has made a statement in favour of this.

Actually this beach is for anyone to enjoy but not monopolize it. I work in Toronto and I have run into coworkers on this beach. People come from all over Niagara and the GTA to visit this beach. This is not about keeping out people it is about making sure there is room for all. It might get a little tight but all are welcome.

For all the residents of Niagara that pack the parking lot For all the families walking to the beach pulling wagons with chairs and toys For all the "New Canadaians" coming on the City Bus For all the boaters dropping anchor just off shore For all the kite surfers coming from Toronto because of the shallow water and OPEN SPACE ( no 24 6x6 sticking out of the sand) For all the tourists that take a wrong turn and stumble into something beautiful And for Me that walks across the street Let's leave a destination for ALL

For crying out loud, leave public access and ownership to the people. NO PRIVATATION!

Keep this beach public. They can useit temporarily for an event if there is sufficient interest.

Here's a few more facts; they want 12 courts, not two. A regulation sand volleyball court (doubles) is 8m x 16m. Multiply that by the 12 courts they're seeking; that's 192 x96m of the beach handed over to this private group. That measurement increases to 168m x 288m for courts used in play by 3,4 and 6. A ridiculous monopolization of the beach for one group. RIDICULOUS!

This is a clean family and friends beach. Greatly enjoy having picnics and lounging at the beach in the summer.

More evidence that "private" "developers'" money can over ride public interest and access - is all of Niagara "for sale" to the highest bidder? How long before "un" wealthy private citizens will have to pay tolls to every road and or park because "developers" have bought everything??? Say no!!
