This is an outrage! First, you tare down the bars, put up condos that are still sitting vacant and now taking away the beaches?! Not necessary. Think of all the business port will lose. Bad decision

With so few public beaches left in the area, I do not support this plan to have Sunset beach monopolized by one organization.

This would create a disaster like the previous wrecking of Michigan Beach. It is a disgrace that this would be seriously considered.

This beach serves many people with different recreational activities.
It is unfair to other public users if the half of the beach will be devoted to a single use, such as beach volleyball.
Sandboxes can be created in any other park for practicing beach volleyball, it shouldn't be Sunset Beach.

Port Dalhousie is a disaster, so this Is our only beach to escape to. Don't take this away from us. Please, just dont. I'll tell you now, you add in those volly ball courts they will be a waste of money.
1) no one around here can afford the membership. Living costs are far to high in the area, we have very very little spending money
2 ) you do realize we are in a seasonal area? Your profits will only occur during the summer months, and depending on weather, that could just be two to three months out of the year.
3) the amount of money you will put into building these courts will be pointless due to lack of income from the memberships.
Leave our beach alone. If you build, both teams loose.

Natural places are the only free, safe open and accessible places we have that give us quality of life. Leave them alone, please.

Totally opposed to the volleyball courts. The beach will be consumed with tournaments,nets and no place for the rest of us to enjoy the relaxation of one of ontarios best kept secret...the beautiful beach!!!!!!

To the post by Anonymous below. You are not the first former Rapid to come out against this even though the Rapids is a good organization. A current member of the club forwarded us an email that called the players out to the community meeting and it was in that email that the real intent was found to make sure that we also had a chance to be there. This is a great beach already heavily used by many from all social demographics and when one group leaves the beach is available for the next group. People walk, bike, and take the bus here yet the parking lot is always full which just goes to show you that this is not a beach just for the local residents but for ALL. In fact on February 15 the kite surfers were out on the lake. These people come from Toronto and beyond to use this PUBLIC beach.

I actually played with the Niagara Rapids when they first started. It is a great organization but I am disappointed they want to take over (even if it is partially) a city beach. Please don't allow them to do this.

It is astounding that you could possibly be thinking about denying access to the beach for the many diverse users of it. The insertion of volleyball posts makes the beach dangerous and unusable for other activities such as soccer, baseball, etc. How can such a confiscation of a rare and public property for the benefit of a single group be justified? And why do volleyballers need particlar access to the beach? Why could their activities not be re-located to some inland park, where they do not deny beach access/use to others?
