Dear Grover Beach Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and Council Members,
I strongly urge you to deny Natural Healing Center a permit to sell medical or recreational marijuana at 998 & 1030 Huston Street. Approving a permit would displace 6 existing businesses and create an undesirable atmosphere for patrons of Coastal Dance and Music Academy (CDMA) that is located at 1030 Huston Street, Suite C & D and has a lease through April 2030.
CDMA provides, not only outstanding performing arts experiences for local youth, but enriches and transforms the lives of their students, creating confidant, responsible and inspired individuals with the ability to move into the future with passion and creativity.
I/We feel that a medical marijuana dispensary is not compatible in close proximity to the children involved in CDMA’s programs; therefore, we strongly encourage the committee to deny the permit to Natural Healing Center at this location. There are several other more suitable sites throughout the approved zone, including vacant lots available that could be purchased to build a facility for their use.
Thank you for your consideration

This site is next to a residential area, we have enough problems without inviting more drug user here. We are paying taxes and raising families, this is not a good fit for the neighborhood.

(Arroyo Grande) This complex is home to a dance studio, gymnastics, and a fitness gym. This is not a good location for a dispensary. Dispensaries should find another location.

This is an outrage! These dispensaries should not be allowed to be within one block of where child activities are conducted.

My child attends classes across from where this place would be established. I don't want it anywhere near children and families congregate.

My daughter enjoys her dance classes at that location and I have concerns that having a dispensary right next to a school is inappropriate.

Our children should not be exposed to a business that is incompatible and so close to the dance and music academy.

Please consider relocating the dispensary to a more appropriate location that it will not have a negative effect on local businesses and an adverse response from the community.

A tucked away industrial area is not an appropriate place for a marijuana dispensary. Displacing 7 quality businesses as collateral damage is irresponsible. Medical dispensaries should be located in a compatible area such as a traditional retail environment or in association with a clinic. There is no reason to cause this level of disruption to established businesses and their livelihood when appropriate and compatible outlets already exist.

It is completely inappropriate to have marijuana dispensed in this location . It would be a loss to our community to displace the existing studios and busineses.
