Please keep the Willows as a lovely family destination and free of bars and axe throwing.

People move to the willows neighborhood to specifically get away from the city life crowded streets and noise associated with bars. As it is people get lost in our neighborhood and have trouble getting out. Im all for the axes throwing and archery without the booze. It fits into the amusement park theme. 100+ year family resident.

The Willows is just fine now as it has always been. This is a place where you will see an abundance of children and families. Another one or two new food stands can easily go into this space. The traffic flow is precarious enough without people who are tanked up weaving around. Serving alcohol in or abutting a city park isn't allowed anywhere else in the city. You can put another arcade in there. Bring Skee-Ball back. There are many choices and ideas. This is a bad one. Saying that because people are already "brown-bagging" booze in the park is justification to allow a liquor establishment is ludicrous. By that logic, people are probably smoking weed at the Willows. Does that mean we should open a pot shop there? Furthermore, although I haven't seen it, if there are that many people drinking there, that is a violation of the city's public drinking law, and the police need to control that. They are hell bent doing it downtown on Halloween. This has been a peaceful, beautiful gem for young and old to enjoy the beauty of nature, the ocean, and have a little fun and good food. It's a proven formula for over a hundred years. Choose tradition, not greed.

My step mother lives in the willows. It’s a nice quiet neighborhood, even with the board walk two streets over from her. A family friendly area, that I do not believe needs a bar with a full liquor license.

I don't feel kids need to be sitting around waiting for their parents to finish drinking. It is a family place be about family. Matter of time drunk drivers, people swimming drunk and drowning, drunk fights and so on.

Do not like the idea of liquor being sold here. Salem is big enough already and has plenty of bars, bringing this into a family park will not be good.

Love the concept, against the booze.

The Salem Willows has always been a family park. Don't ruin it. We all know what will happen if alcohol is allowed. I don't care what anyone says; it will mean the end of the "Willows" as we know it.

This idea is way out of place for the Salem Willows. It doesn’t fit the aesthetic of the Willows. At all.

What’s next you going to allow food trucks there. Stop trying to commercialize and change places that are staples in the community.

I don't agree with the entire idea because I think it's the wrong recreational venue for the Willows but if it is going to happen I'm definitely opposed to a liquor license. The inevitable increase in noise, trash and let's be honest drunken stupor that comes with this kind of place is sure to change the fabric of the Willows. I'm aware people bring their own to picnic and such but granting 1 license opens Pandora box of next welcoming bars and chains.

I am a Beverly resident. I frequented the Willows often when my children were young. I do not support allowing a bar to open in the park.
