Reinstate Mr Yates as Headteacher at Tottington High School

This headteacher looks like he’s doing the job in all the right ways! The fun way of getting through to children! I was a child once and you remember these kinds of teachers more than the dictator teachers for all the right reasons.

My daughter attends this school and has ADHD. We struggle with school but Mr Yates is an inspiration to all neurodiverse children showing just what you can achieve despite your disabilities. His enthusiasm is a breath of fresh air and he is turning the school around. With him gone, I dread to think what will happen and will seriously consider moving schools. It's ridiculous how the academy trust is handling this. I sincerely hope he is reinstated. He is loved and will me sorely missed

My daughter is due to start tottington high school in September, she picked the school because of Mr Yates, and her cousin at the school saying how amazing the school is, he is exactly what the school needed and still needs as he has turned it back into the amazing school my husband and his siblings went to , bring back Mr Yates

My friends children went to Tottington and praised Mr Yates from the day he started. He was the joy they school needed. My children went to Elton and hated it as it was too regimental too strict and no fun at all. I use to wish we had a Mr Yates.

Give him back his job doing what he does best and better than any other who's been in that school

Dare to be different, get him back were he was loved liked and was wanted. CP people doing the wrong thing again.

This incredible professional is all every teacher should aspire to! He is inspiratiional, empathic, creative and a fair, encouraging leader from all I have understood about him. Finnicky tick boxers are not the way ahead! If any boxes are concerned, this extraordinary man thinks outside them. That's a strength, not a failing. The Trustees and Governors are charged to present reasons for suspensions with integrity and clarity in a timely manner. Those employed are paid via our taxes and should be answerable to parents, staff and students. In the end, it is the children and their best interests that should be at heart. The fact that this silence drags on with increasingly less plausible reason, suggests the Trustees' potential disingenuity and even, improprierty in due process, in my opinion.

Mr Yates has had a massive impact in my children's lives and always had time to listen and acted on what needed to be done. I cannot say a bad thing about him

He’s sounds like an amazing Head!!! Just the type of person needed around teenagers looking for a good, strong role model in their lives. Whatever, has caused the suspension I hope it’s resolved quickly and all being well he is reinstated to continue doing what he does best - being a strong leader and changing youngsters lives for the better.

Teachers like him should be commended and valued - there are not enough teachers like him - he needs to be reinstated with full clarity as to what is behind this instead of it all being behind closed doors

The video shows him full of fun full of life showing love for animals seems an easy going approachable person which is what every school needs his friendly role model and someone to talk to give the guy his job back it's probably the persons that complained is someone that's sat on the arse all day looking for faults.

The teaching world cannnot afford to lose a head like this!

David was an ex colleague of mine at HCHC his passion, support and commitment to the school community was second to none. Such an inspiration teacher and leader. I also follow him on his Torrington Hugh School journey nothing has changed

Imagine having the courage to bold and be different, to make a difference, for some small minded people to complain about the characteristics that make him unique. It is clear discrimination. Why is it when children display these characteristics it’s fine but not when a disabled adult does?
