Reinstate Mr Yates as Headteacher at Tottington High School

Any school board should think themselves lucky to have him!

My grandson attends THS and adores Mr Yates. As a former headteacher, I find his approach to be a breath of fresh air. I was at the recent Y8 football final at Gigg Lane. Mr Yates was incredible in how he interacted with both pupils and their parents. He encouraged good sportsmanship amongst the pupils and manifested such enjoyment. He is unique and the Trust is lucky to have him.

Would love to see Mr Yates back at Tottington High. After my son left the open night, he went away and created a poem about him, it was about being kind which he used for his head boy presentation. Already made a massive impact on my son after only hearing him speak for 30 minutes. From what I've heard from family members and friends who already have children at Tottington high, there's nobody more dedicated than him and he's really trying his hardest to turn the school around. Perhaps looking at more support for Mr Yates might be the way forward? The positivity that's been bursting from the school over the last 12 months has been deafning. I'm certain the school needs him.

Mr Yates has made such a positive impact on Tottington High. Kids love him. He needs to come back !

nowMr Yates did amazing things at heywood community high school back when i was at school, and from what ive seen and read on social media he continues to do amazing things at tottington high school. He changed the lives of literally thousands of children and a few complaints hes erratic and look whats happened - disgrace! The world needs more teachers like him. The best.

Mr Yates was my head teacher when I attended high school. He is a one of a kind teacher!! He made school a life changing experience. Under no circumstances should he be suspended for behaviour that only influences children to do there best in a warm and safe environment. Horrible teachers for complaining about him

The fact Dave has been suspended is criminal in itself. By far the most successful headteacher Heywood and Bury would have ever seen.

Suspend the small minded teachers instead. We should be championing different teaching methods

Mr Yates sorted us all out 2002 onwards at HCHS he looks after his pupils and even families!! Not many schools do that these days! Bring him back!!

We will be looking to move our children if Mr Yates is not reinstated. Year 7 was sold on a lie, many, many more families put THS as first choice this year based on Mr Yates. The responses from key senior leaders about it actually being a team effort are embarrassing and they should be ashamed. If they are so good then why did it take Mr Yates coming to bring positivity back to the school? Those are the people that should be leaving, the deadweight that have clung in for years with no impact, and now attempt to fly on his coat tails. And how funny that already the school feels negative, communication is dreadful, bordering on threatening. An “us and them” mentality. You can’t cope without Mr Yates, as much as you try to convince yourselves you can. Bring him back.

The best teacher my girls ever had . He made a massive difference to them . Passionate about every expect of his job , if fact it isn’t a job for him , it’s his vocation . Reinstate him before you lose him !

Amazing head teacher. He was the deputy head at Heywood community then became the head master. I can’t thank this man enough for his infectious enthusiasm .

Can’t believe what has happened mr Yates deserves to be at that school! It was the only reason I sent my daughter. The school won’t run the same without him we need him

The one and only good thing to come from this school was mr Yates! What he did in the little time he was here is more than what’s been done in years!! I’m seriously considering moving my child just like a lot of other people if he doesn’t come back.

Fantastic teacher shame on you who have done this .

Always has been and always will be the best head teacher around!
