My head when I was at Heywood Community High School (20 years ago!) absolutely disgusting how he’s being treated. So discriminating

David Yates was my form tutor when I first started high school I have known David for 30 years and even had the pleasure to work under him. He gave me a sense of belonging and feeling worthy that I could achieve anything. He is supportive cares and listens. He is genuinely one of the most inspirational people i have ever met and he is the reason i have been in education for the past 18 years. He has a heart of gold and would give his time to help anyone no matter there background he always sees the potential in everyone. I am absolutely shocked that ADHD is being thrown around for the reason he has been suspended if this is the case the powers at be should be utterly ashamed of themselves I truly hope that your son/daughter is never treated like this and placed in this position. I hope David finds an organisation that believes and trusts in him and values the incredible man that he is.

Being different should be embraced! If his approach is what’s best for the Pupils and parents are happy, that should be celebrated. It’s the pupils happiness and achievements that count !

He’s always been a great teacher and head teacher at all the schools he has taught at. All I’ve heard about him, is that he goes above and beyond for pupils and staff, as well as families.

Good luck, I know the importance of a loved teacher, when a person seems to have such a impact on alot of people i wonder tge impact his absence has had on those students who may have lost their safe person in a school

Absolutely great teacher- has time for every student. Is on a level that both parents and pupils can confide in. Massive mistake if you lose him!

He was my head teacher at Heywood Community where I left 20 years ago. He was a brilliant Head Teacher back then and judging but the videos and posts I’ve seen, he’s still an amazing Head Teacher.

Before Mr Yates came to the school my son was bullied and I felt they didn't take the incidents serious until Mr Yates arrived and changed things for the better. Bring him back so the school can continue to thrive.

Mr David Yates is truly what I believe to be the best head teacher I ever personally had the pleasure of knowing! This school are lucky to have had him, absolute shame to see him suspended for just being himself, shame on those who have complained.

Loved seeing his positive posts on social media. The behaviour of children in Totty High School uniforms in the area also improved.

We need more people like this in our children’s education!

If he was hired because of his enthusiasm etc then he now shouldn’t be treated in a negative way because of it. I wonder who the minority are that have complained about him? The support for him and appreciation for what he has done for the students and the school are evident in the outpouring of support. He should be reinstated.

Mr Yates is the main reason we chose this school for my child starting in September. I hope he is there to welcome the kids come September
