Reinstate Mr Yates as Headteacher at Tottington High School

Why take notice of the few teachers who do not like his bubbly ways, he is keeping the school alive. Also to those teachers don't forget he is your boss.

Both of my nephews attend this school and speak very highly of him.

What I have seen was he was great headteacher and he actually was a person who listened to to the pupils and the things he did were brilliant.Why has he been suspended when he was clearly loved by the pupils and parents the school will never be the same again .Shame on you Bury Council and the Governors of the school

I am a neighbour of the school and have witnessed a change in the students behaviour and attitude, He is a great headmaster who really cares about the kids & community this is wrong on every level, he needs reinstating immediately

Mr Yates has changed the school, I feel my secure. I wasn’t coming in at all since he came and I still wasn’t. So he put stuff in place for me and I came in. The new head teacher is no match to Mr Yates, I think if Mr Yates is being suspended for having ADHD everyone wi the ADHD might aswell be punished

Bring him back the new head teacher is no match and doesnt support us.

He is amazing he is the only reason why my daughter goes to school

This school has had more headteachers over the last few years its been ridiculous. There has been no stability, rules changing every 2 minutes to the point that you cant keep up. Since Mr Yates arrival you can see the changes that he has implemented has made a positive impact, also making himself available to parents when needed - no headteacher has ever done that in the 13 years that our 3 kids have been there. You can see the passion that Mr Yates has, clearly see that he cares about the school. This suspension is wrong on absolutely every level.

Our son had a miserable first year at Tottington, to the point that we looked at moving him. He was terrified of making a mistake, leadership was draconian and constantly focused on the negatives. I work in education and was horrified by the way the school was run. When Mr Yates arrived it was a breathe of fresh air, everything changed almost overnight. Which is unheard of in education. Not only did we decide to keep our son there but we persuaded our daughter to apply too for this September. I feel duped as a parent and I feel the communication around this has been diabolical. To not even let parents know that the headteacher is absent is horrendous. If there is any truth in the fact that Mr Yates’ suspension in anyway links to his outgoing personality and loud, bouncy persona then it will be a travesty, this is what made him the leader he is and this is nothing new. I hope you read all of the comments here and feel the strength of feeling amongst this community. We will not accept another head disappearing without word.
