Reinstate Mr Yates as Headteacher at Tottington High School

A former student of Mr Yates, I can honestly say he’s a force for good in any school. Back in Year  9/10, he helped me through a very difficult period with stammering and stuttering, gently building my confidence through gradual question‑asking. I even shared a stage with him during a leavers assembly as we sang "All Right Now!" by Free. He helped turn our high school around for the better while always keeping his door open for students who needed support. He’s not just a great teacher, but an outstanding human being in a town – and county – that truly needs people like him. I don’t know much about Tottington High School, but I do know this: that man is the real deal.

I don't know this man but recognise why he would be a perfect fit for my adhd grandson We need more teachers like him! Cool!!

i have just left tottington and in my last year at the school he really made a difference, i was bullied throughout school and he finally made me seen, getting rid of him will completely transform the school back to the rubbish it was before, children’s mental health should always come first in school and that’s what he did for us.

He is amazing, my 3 grandchildren 2 which have left 1 still there at this school and this man has turned this school around wish there were more headmasters like him,get Mr Yates back

Best teacher I ever had. An inspiration to do many people

He support my son throughout his last few years and got him the support he needed and hopefully he will get the grades he needs due to his dedication towards all the students. He loves supporting families and pupils of the school.

David Yates is an absolute legend, after working with him at Heywood I can honestly say he is one of the most kind and caring people I have ever met. Tottington would be crazy to let such a fantastic head go, BIG MISTAKE!!!!!

The fact that the Trust has still not confirmed that they have suspended him is a joke. Perhaps details cannot be released but to fuel this speculation with smokes and mirrors in the hope that it will go away is short sighted. This is bringing the Trust into disrepute. To see hundreds and hundreds of comments of support from pupils, parents, former pupils, former colleagues and even local residents speaks volumes about the Dave and his impact. This feels like a pre planned cleanse, exactly what the trust has done with countless other leaders, but this time WE WILL NOT GO AWAY.

Future students have been put off I have 2 boys and it was almost certain they would attend. It is different now.

Reading all the positivity regarding this man its so clear to me they are making a huge mistake,headteachers like this are worth their weight in gold. Reconsider immediately

This man is amazing what he does for all the pupils at this school is amazing. The support he gives the children who need that little extra is unbelievable and he goes up and beyond for all of them. He makes school enjoyable for each one of them especially the children who struggle.

This man clearly has a talent for teaching and leading children he should be supported not removed nothing but glowing comments about him

Reinstate!

I've known David yates since back in the late 90's at Middleton technology. Having seen what he has done for this school is remarkable and should be commended not disciplined. Give the children their headteacher back, let the children have a voice.

This guy is 1 of the best out there. I had him when he worked at middleton technology school.

This headteacher needs reinstating them teachers that complained should hang their head in shame he has made a massive difference to the school and to pupils a like and created a wonderful learning environment!
