Reinstate Mr Yates as Headteacher at Tottington High School

Need more teachers and head teachers that are approachable, inclusive, children feel comfortable and happy in the learning environment.

Since leaving Litherland High School this school has gone dramatically downhill. SENDCO children are not protected, as previously when he was the head. My child still talks about how great he was .. disgusting to hear he had lost his job for being different ? So much for inclusivity :(

Such a waste of an excellent head teacher. This was a very short-sighted decision.

Amazing teacher. My daughter just left in July. Have a son still there. Both speak highly of Mr Yates. Best headteacher they’ve had. The kids absolutely love him and that has got to be a massive positive for the school. Happy pupils better than disruptive ones. Get him back where he belongs. Good luck.

Mr Yates is an amazing head, any school should feel lucky to have him, we certainly felt the loss at Litherland High when he left. Never change Mr Yates, you are just brilliant!

Re Instate him.

When I went to Tottington High School, we had a Headteacher who was seeing the job out until his retirement. When I read that THS were converting to an academy, I thought "Oh dear!" No such thing as a good academy. Wish we had had a Mr Yates when I was there.

Never seen a reaction like it, the school community is simultaneously mourning and outraged. Wish EHS head had been this amazing

My son who attending Tottington High and graduated last summer said he was the best head teacher the school has ever had, he was well liked and made positive changes. He came in as my son went into year 11 and he said it was the most enjoyable year he had at the school, before then the school was like being at military camp. He made some mega positive changes and the school will only go back to the way it was which is unfortunate, a lot of parents chose the school because of where he was taking the school. He was bringing fun and life back into school, the fact he openly shared he had ADHD was fantastic and I think he gained a lot of respect from pupils and parents for being so open. He was a fantastic, upbeat head teacher. I remember my sons first day at Tottington high I asked him how it went and his response was that the teachers don’t look like they want to be there, they are very miserable. The education system is so broken it doesn’t want teachers who bring out the best in children it only wants to create dumb down worker bees.

I think it’s appalling that the pupils at Tottington School do not know what is happening to their Head who they think is great! Pupils and Parents must be told when he will be reinstated as there is NO reason he shouldn’t be!!!

All schools need a teacher like Mr Yates, a dedicated man who strives to make every pupils contributions count and every student feel valued. Equality at its best. A brave man who strives to do right.

You never forget a good teacher. Don’t deprive the kids the chance of saying that. Bring him back
