Reinstate Mr Yates as Headteacher at Tottington High School

I think as parents we need to be made more aware of what is going on.

I don’t know this man but I have never read so many comments from former pupils, saying what an amazing, positive impact he had on their lives. Education needs more people like this. Keep the good guys and get rid of the ones who don’t engage with the pupils.

Need more teachers like this

As a teacher and a mum to an adhd son plus a husband with adhd, this is so shocking. I left teaching due to bullying, nasty government tactics. This headteacher is being discriminated due to the one attribute that makes him so dynamic and passionate: his adhd. What a great example he is to adhd pupils and yet the governors are now actively telling pupils that adhd is a weakness and needs stamping on. What a terrible message.

What a inspiration he was there my grandson enjoyed his first year so much but has his second year started last week and he was not has happy he found mr Yates so down to earth and encouraging

Mr Yates was head of my high school, he was a legend regardless of his issues, why is this school laser focused on his problems

Got to maintain standards with great head teachers.

Mr Yates is the best headteacher have had in the past 20 years. This is an observation from someone who lives on Laurel street and also has a child in the school. He was finally turning the school around. He must be brought back.

He was an amazing Head teacher when he was at our school in Liverpool and he is still missed.

What this guy has done to turn the school around many thought was impossible. Bring him back or at least be open about the reason he isn’t there.

it's always the children that suffer

Such a change in the school ethos, presentation, atmosphere and results.

Suspending staff for symptoms of neuro diversity is hardly setting a good example to the children. Inclusivity, equality and respect!

We must support good people!

Wonderful man and head teacher. Your loss will be someone else gain. But what a way to treat someone.

If he makes a difference reinstate him now!

I'm shocked & disappointed reading about this. As an ADHD person myself & a retired teacher I identify with his personality & character. Also with his desire to be the best be could be in his role.

Mr Yates is a leader with a huge heart. At a time when my family was struggling, he personally helped us settle in and made sure we had everything we needed for our home. That is who he is — someone who always thinks of people first.

Students and parents deserve the truth, time for the school to make a statement saying where Mr Yates has gone. Best head by far at THS and there has been A LOT!!
