Demand more detail and care for the environment from any large development project. This project is unlawful. Do Not approve it. Please pay attention to your constituents who vote for you!

Must every single remaining parcel of natural wetlands along Sarasota Bay be allowed to be plowed under and developed?! I urge you to use your common sense and decency to vote against the proposed development of Long Bar Pointe. At the very least, this section of Long Bar should be protected, though, preferably, the entire Long Bar property should be purchased by Manatee County under the environmental lands acquisition program. Unfortunately, too much of our shoreline has already been developed, and there is little that can be done about that now, but the last-remaining stretches of mangroves and surrounding uplands must now be removed from consideration for future development if we are to hope to preserve the remaining sea life, wildlife and natural beauty that drew us here to live in the first place. Of course, the deep pockets and political clout of Carlos Beruf make for an imposing adversary when deciding whether to oppose his multi-million dollar development, but please know that we citizens stand firmly against this destruction, and beg you to also do so.

I am a permanent resident and voter in Holmes Beach and am deeply opposed to dredging a lagoon or building a 145 foot tall building for this development.

I'm all in for progress, but this isn't it. Many of us have come to the west coast to escape the east coast madness, high risers and congestion. Twelve years ago the Boston globe and New York Times wrote about Florida's best well kept Paradise. Today do to poor planning our future is looking grim. It truly appears that there doesn't exist a well thought out master plan for Manatee County's future. Developments such as Aqua by the sea, will bulldoze the beauty away, make there millions and leave creating more congestion to boot, and an Island that one can't get to for enjoyment. Our waterways, and surrounding natural beauty needs to be preserved and protected not destroyed and replaced with cement walls. Many of us believe that this area is and will continue to discourage Bradenton and AMI as a family vacationing destination. We need a better creative plan in order to move forward and destructive plans as Aqua by the sea has in mind can not be approved in my opinion.

We need to save our shorelines and the wildlife. A housing development can be moved --a shoreline cannot.

I think the birds and marine life that already inhabit this sensitive area should take precedence over destroying an entire ecosystem for overpriced and unnecessary housing. Look out for the whole of Florida, not for the interests of a few wealthy individuals.

Intelligent people, especially those of us that grew up in Florida, KNOW ALREADY that to destroy mangrove stands along the shoreline threatens everything about Florida's ecosystem. The government of Florida has allowed enough destruction, over the years, to the Florida ecosystem. ENOUGH!! Cease and desist the destruction of our mangrove fields along our coasts!!! Stop being so freakin' greedy and do something for the good of all, for once in your lives. Do not allow ANY of this proposed plan to take place. It will be asinine.

I cannot believe that they approved a building that violates the legal limit. Not to mention, building a seawall that can damage or kill the mangroves, etc. etc. Unacceptable!
