Sartorette is a staple of the Cambrian Community. It seems silly to sell it off when we have 3 other non-operating schools that could accomplish the same thing.

I feel the district and the board has spent money and allocate resources unwisely and unfairly. You gave Steindorf a lot more resources than other schools and now plan to take away Sartorette's resource. Reduced enrollment may a temporary problem, and it might get better in the next few years. So please think of solutions that don't affect operating schools, like renting campus in the summer/winter, in after-school hours, offer paid after-school program, etc. Please listen to all comments and sincerely consider those options suggested in this petition.

my daughter just started at sartorette and she loves the track. Please make sure to exhaust all other options before even considering this one.

The board should abandon these long term expensive and questionable projects. The board should be focusing on short term revenue generation like renting out empty classrooms to kumon or mathnasium. Also- the board should be looking for summer time tenants for the steindorf lab and all campuses - this would generate quick revenue w minimal expense and delay. . Dear board - you have two major emergencies - one is dropping attendance and the other is a chronic budget short fall. PLEASE FOCUS ALL YOUR ENERGY ON THESE PROBLEMS. Please do not spend any money on relocating your district office until you have provided all campuses w safety upgrades and technology equal to or better than your showcase campus at Steindorf . Remember - the classroom experience of our students should be your number one priority .

It is utterly ridiculous and outrageous for the Cambrian School District to take this vital asset from Sartorette. For many years Sartorette has been shortchanged and a low priority compared to the other schools in the district. Taking away the track will be another blow to the Sartorette community. We did not get the free-standing media center that was proposed in the last bond measure. There have been rumors of closing the school for almost two years. The district claims to promote health and wellness and the Sartorette track is the hub of activity for physical activity. Stop spending money on a 5K race that has decreasing participation each year and use those funds to keep the Sartorette track.

While funding the district and adding housing/ mixed use are both concerns in Cambrian, there are alternative sites. Also, the neighborhood surrounding sartorette is already a tightly packed single home area without the ingress and egress needed to accommodate another structure type. The school has always had high attendance numbers, whereas there are sites that have been underused or closed previously. Please reconsider.
