Due to the new norm of school violence, the fact that stakeholders (aka public school tax payers) have not been able to cast a vote regarding metal detector installment is despicable.

Thank God someone has attacked the problem. I have been saying this but nobody in authority listens. YES for metal detectors and clear backpacks!!

I fully support the metal detectors, not a firm believer of the clear backpacks

If you've ever visited the Court house in Bel Air you know there are at least 4 or 5 sheriff deputies standing around the metal detector. Then why are we providing less protection for our most precious resource, our children?

Please check into using Evolv weapon detection scanning used at many schools. Manatee county Florida is using this! Fast and effective!

Clear backpacks alone are not going to do much. We need metal detectors and security at EACH school.

My child is 8 and i want her to be able to go to school without this worry as she gets older. Metal detectors I think should be essential now.

Absolutely. How many more violent shooting have to happen before something is done. Protect or kids and teachers

Children shouldn't have to be afraid to go to school and parents shouldn't have to worry about sending their children to school.

I'm signing for metal detectors in every school entrance. Clear backpacks I'm unsure about that.

My daughter, Zoe Holt, almost lost her life on 1/10/23 when she was stabbed 37 times inside a bathroom at Lansdowne High in Baltimore County. Our school boards and government officials need to step up and do more to ensure our children's safety while in their hands. One's zipcode should not designate the safety of our children in school! This is a growing issue across the nation and us parents must come together and demand they make school safety a priority in every school! #justiceforzoeholt #safetyfirstinschools

We can't get rid of them; let's get rid of the fear.

This is mandatory at my work place. There is no reason it shouldn't be mandatory at schools. We've had since Columbine to put this in place. How many more lives will it take to put this COMMON SENSE defense system in place.
