This plan will hurt students across the district -- including the middle school -- as librarians will be traveling to "cover" Strawberry on rotating days. They are already stretched thin. It seems very shortsighted to disrupt so many lives for a bandaid solution to a predicted budget shortfall. Nickel-and-diming teacher's salaries cannot ameliorate this problem.

Please keep Ms. Megan as SPS's dedicated librarian. My son frequently talks of his great experiences @ the library with her. Treat Strawberry Point Equally.

Please keep Ms. Megan as SPS's dedicated librarian - she is not only an excellent librarian who was meant for this job, but an incredible human being that the community and children adore.

A rotating librarian is not an acceptable solution and a short-sighted quick fix. We pay high taxes and this issue warrants deeper problem solving effort. Developing a love of reading, the sharing of ideas and perspective, is at the core of nurturing empathy and connection. We will short change developing social emotional learning if we lose the point person who focuses on fostering a joy in reading.

One of the core missions of MVSD is to treat each of the 5 elementary schools equally. This move clearly goes against that mission, and sends a very negative message to the Strawberry community. Please reconsider, and find another solution to the funding problem which would impact all schools equally.

Strawberry needs to keep their librarian! She has done an amazing job since Dee’s passing. Do the right thing.

This is NOT any way to run a school, or a district. We pay a lot of taxes for the privilege to live in a community with outstanding schools. This will be a detriment to the kids, and unfair to those families who expect (and pay for) a school that at the very least provides the basics to its students--a librarian certainly being one of them!

This is a shortsighted decision. The immediate cost savings of not having a dedicated Strawberry librarian will be easily offset by the future resource needs to provide reading assistance for students that are not natural readers or have little interest in literature. Strongly recommend that the Board revisit this decision.

Meghan is an exceptionally talented, experienced, and dedicated educator enriching the education of every kid at SPS. She is vital and irreplaceable. The idea of having a
librarian from another school cover her position is not acceptable. Reducing her hours would also be unacceptable. I'd like to see the school board reduce costs at the administrative level as an alternative. I would be extremely disappointed if the school can not find a solution to retain Meghan. My kids would not have the same enthusiasm for school and academics without her.

As a parent who has worked closely with the SPS library for the last 4 years, I have seen first-hand how valuable the library and our librarian is to the kids. Megan is an incredible asset to the school and our community. It would be such a disservice to our kids education to remove her position from SPS.

Our SPS librarian is a treasure and an incredible opportunity to have the services of an very well qualified individual for a non-FTE rate. Please do not waste this opportunity of such high value.
