Parent of SPS 1st and 5th grader.
The library at SPS fills a multitude of important academic and non-academic roles in the lives of Strawberry students. The total elimination of this position is not acceptable to SPS parents, and it should not be to our administration either.

Keep the SPS librarian! After all the years of taxes, Kiddo donations and PTA donations, it would be unacceptable to deprive SPS of a fundamental need like this.

How can you run a school without a permanent librarian? I've been in the library volunteering when subs have com in and it's not the same as having a permanent librarian. The students need consistency and security knowing who their teachers are and the library is a very important part of the school day.

The Libriarian is such an important part of our children learning and helping them become interested in reading. Our daughters are in TK this year and the excitement they share with their weekly Library visits are heartwarming and clearly is an important part of their education

Our students need a ‘Clean, Well-Lighted Place’ in which to read and we also need the bright and shining star who is Megan Siòbhan, the librarian!

Megan has impacted my children’s desire to read in such a way that no one would understand unless they saw her in action. Just stop by at lunch, where hundreds of kids pass through and Megan knows their names and what they like to read, her job is so massive, she is literally helping each child to develop an interest and love of reading and she does that by knowing all the options available, she reads thousands of books and reviews so that she can ignite our children’s imaginations! We can not afford to let Megan go, she is an incredibly valuable asset to our children’s future.

Please don’t eliminate the SPS librarian position- we should not place further stress in dwindling educational resources.

Ms. Megan is such an asset to our school community, and this idea to not have a dedicated librarian position at our school is completely unacceptable with the mission of the MVSD.

We have to stop treating SPS as a backfill school for partial services while other schools get full services (or visit SPS for basic coverage). This is an important part of our learning community.

Strawberry is so lucky to have such a dedicated Librarian! After Dee's passing Megan has done an amazing job. Eliminating her position will have a negative impact for the school and the kids.

Librarians are every bit as impactful as those classroom teachers and are often the safe person for kids to go to from one year to the next.
