All children are ill-served by distance learning. Younger ones especially need the community of other learners to stimulate thought and immediate feedback from teachers, not a simple "like" on the work she submitted online 3 days ago. They need hands-on experience and activities that are not possible at home.
There needs to be an allowance for full-time school in person with precautionary safety measures.

distance learning didn't help my son. If the teachers help online classes/ instruction, maybe. But as a full time worker and sole parent, I can't be responsible for teaching him material I barely remember.

Please consider a stable classroom cohort and full time in person learning for those who want it. Please do not remove materials and library access. Just have children wash their hands!

My son is supposed to begin kindergarten at a Spanish Immersion school. How can I homeschool this appropriately? How can he learn what he would in a classroom at home? How could he be expected to sit all day in a mask without a break to run around and be able to socialize? And how can we be expected to send to school half time and then not be able to send to an after school care program with different kids? Most parents here have to work. We need to think about the long term consequences of our children by these inhibitive guidelines.

My son will be starting kindergarten this fall. In addition to adjusting to a full time schedule and learning how to behave in a classroom, he is going to be in Spanish immersion learning a new language!! How would he possibly succeed with this proposed plan??!!

Yes I agree! 110 percent! This is just one mama who loves her naive Soon to be kindergartener who also has sensory processing issues. Who is ultra sensitive to everything . Who understands what normalcy is and his world has been turned upside down.
