Those who are going to be homeschooling their children should have no say whatsoever in how the children of those of us who will not be is structured. Read the studies - children do not pass COVID easily between one another, and it is extremely rare for children to pass COVID to adults. Don't stubbornly try to justify your past decisions by harming our children now.

We need to get the kids back to school. Remote learning did not serve our kids well. I implore you to do more research on how other School districts plan to get their children back to learning in school.

Living in the bay area takes two incomes which means we can’t possibly be at home, homeschooling our kids which means they have to go back to school in the fall.

Young children need social interaction and less screen time. They need to be engaged with little distractions. The frivolous worry and panic of adults should not overshadow the education and socialization of children. Just wash their hands and move forward together.

Kids need to be in school for the health of their mental well being. Wearing masks and expecting kids to social distance at school is not feasible. Kids are low risk. Let them be normal so they don’t have lasting mental issues from this. Let kids be kids.

While I would be accepting of masks on students and an *attempt* at distancing what I cannot imagine is a world in which my rising kindergartner is *successfully* educated in a remote learning model. Developmentally it is not appropriate for him to stare at a screen. Further, the teachers are not trained, equipped, or supported with an effective online curriculum. Online learning has been an abject failure for my 1st grader and we will be forced to engage a tutor if this model continues as he is a child who *loves* to learn and has been denied that for the past 3 months (twice weekly show and tell and scanned worksheets that revisit topics from the fall, along with YouTube videos do *not* constitute learning). Other countries have successfully returned elementary school students to schools while keeping the higher risk High Schools closed (as Hs students can stay home alone and effectively learn online this also addresses the plight of working parents. Daycare for school aged children does not exist)

Please allow our kids to have regular school schedule again; being home has been hard on them, they need & beg to be around their friends and have structure other than in their home all day and night.

Thank you Leya and Steve! You have put into words what I am feeling. It's time for parents to stand up and have a say on a issue that so greatly affects families with school age children.
