Keep Sunset Hill Early-Start

Please keep Sunset Hill an early start school! Those of us who will potentially have (4) children in both SH and WMS would very much appreciate drop off and pick up times closer together. Ultimately, it would respect our work and family schedules resulting in less hardship. School start times will absolutely factor into our school/neighborhood choice when moving this summer. Thank you for your consideration.

8am Starting time works great for our family.

This late start has actually hurt me as a single mom. I've been looking forward to the early start next year so I can go back to my original work schedule, meaning I will have a more stable income! Don't allow the late start to go through...please!

No need for the change, do not cause an inconvenience.

Let's stop calling this an early start, It's the normal start time. The only reason we start late is because of transporting the students across town. Next year we wont have to do this anymore so there's no need for a late start. Early release every Wednesday is enough of a hardship on working parents as it is.

Initially, I thought late start would be a fun change for our family. However, It has ruined our afternoons. Losing an hour of afternoon severely limits what we can do with our after school time. This means the kids have had to give up many after school activities. When you go to bed at 8:30, there's not much wiggle room. This just doesn't work for us.

Early start seems like a better fit for most work schedules, including those of teachers.

Please return Sunset Hill to our original early-start school. The early start is preferred and much more conducive for work schedule. Thank you!

In the wintertime kids will be leaving school when it's almost dark.

The schedule for school start-up time should be established so that it is most convenient for families.

Keep it an early start!

And please include an after school program such as boys and girls club

Many of the Sunset Hill students are picked up by West brothers and sisters. If we are a late school, those West students will be hanging around Sunset and West waiting for dismissal. This can lead to many problems.

The siblings of West and Sunset need to be around the same time.

I would like to keep the early hours. It benefits families who have other children that go to West Jr. High
