This historical building cannot be demolished to allow for further development. If it is indeed beyond saving, then the land should be preserved for public use, and protected against future development. A convenient fire, should not condemn this piece of history to the mercy of commercial development.

Sywell road is already a busy thoroughfare, with cars ignoring the speed restrictions. School places are already limited, where would children go?

Enabling development to create a residential scheme of no benefit to the wider Overstone catchment is totally unacceptable and not appropriate. English Heritage should take up there responsibility and create an historic monument of the buildings and surrounding landscape in perpetuity that reflects its contribution to Overstone and its place in history across Northamptonshire.
The current proposals are all about generating a commercial return and obtaining a planning consent on land which would never be considered as appropriate for development in normal circumstances.

[1] Loss of a valuable rural environment around a historic Hall adjacent to a village. [2] Narrow Sywell road passing 2 schools already at a standstill at school pick up time - danger to children and chaos on the roads. [3] No school places. [4] There must be a real risk that any developer could build the houses, destroy the environment and then claim that he needs to build more houses to make it financially viable to renovate the Hall - by which time the damage is done. [5] There are alternatives such as making safe a historic ruin and re-enabling access for villagers.

This development will swamp Overstone both in terms of traffic and local infrastructure. Surely BHH will not be allowed to literally cram scores of new homes into this rural area.

The charm of Overstone park will be very badly affected by this proposal, and the traffic will cause problems as access onto Sywell road will be very difficult.

I hope that Daventry Council consider and respect the voice the local residents they represent over commercial interests .
The village infrastructure is already stretched and both Overstone & Sywell suffer from excessive and speeding traffic. This development brings nothing positive to the locality or residents .

Overstone village does not need anymore houses. The village will not cope with the volume of traffic it's bad enough as it is

Totally opposed to this development the village is already being swallowed up with the development at Overstone Leys and to turn historic parkland into a housing estate is ludicrous
No!
