Totally agree. The town is being overdeveloped for housing without any supporting investment in jobs or infrastructure. That access before the brow of the hump would be a recipe for RTA's.

The resultant congestion on London Road and the fact the nearest school is at capacity makes this proposed development utterly ridiculous.

There is no evidence that other recent large developments in the town have brought any added value to the community - this proposal is no different .Only theoretical benefits for Retford have been purported.

The location is totally unsuitable for the number of houses applied for. Our objections have already been submitted to the council.

Concerned about the increase in trafffic to a already very busy road.

As residents of the London Road estate we strongly object to this development. The infrastructure within this area is insufficient for the proposed application.

I am highly concerned about the lack of infrastructure to support this housing, also the risk of flooding it will bring & most of all the volume of traffic on an unsuitable road which will also impact on an already stupidly busy main road

London road already too busy. Grove road couldn't cope either. Retford has too many houses as it is.

Fully agree. Not only with comments from residents but the fact that infrastructure should be in place before a development goes to planning. Not years later.

Most concerning, many of us already suffer from varying degrees of flooding on Grove Coach Road and Bracken Lane when it downpours which is more and more common. More houses on the next field, sending their drainage down to us (which is in the plans to do so) is simply unacceptable. The area is even marked as a risk flooding area on environment agency and other assessments. Also this is a conservation area where the views of Grove Park are supposed to be protected forever. Whats wrong with people - why aren't we protecting our heritage and beautiful areas of Retford which are becoming fewer and fewer. In addition the road network wont support such a site - the entrance of the proposed site is in a very dangerous place.

Retford is already unable to cope with the amount of traffic flowing through the town and London road in particular is an already dangerous road with frequent accidents and particularly congested at peak times or when accidents happen on the A1 making retford virtually at a standstill. The whole infrastructure would need revisiting as there are grave concerns over issues of access, flooding, nature environmental loss and community impact to name but a few issues

I have already written to Bassetlaw regarding the unsuitability of this development, particularly with regard to the huge changes in traffic that will be experienced.

when will Bassetlaw council ever get their act together and realise that indiscriminate building of houses on a piece of land which looks appealing has to stop

This is green belt development in a conservation area with a single access on to a busy road by a blind summit bridge. 113 houses (phase one!) and no infrastructure No Way.

I think someone needs to consider that all the local schools are full and turning people away!! How can we accommodate even more houses, more people, more need for schools!

Very concerned about this proposal particularly about increase in traffic and access for residents. Please reconsider.
