With the understanding the current tenant will no longer utilize the facility after 2018, the new owners plan to re-develop the land for two warehouses. While the town sees the tax revenue this may generate, the impact to the area may be catastrophic. Thousands of homes and families have been established in this "sleepy" area and bringing 1,000,000 sq feet of warehouse space will be extremely disruptive. Families have to worry about their home structures, water quality, air pollution, traffic, increased strangers in the area and a continuing shift from a residential to a commercial town. A quick internet search shows over 220,000 sq feet of warehouse space currently up for rent in Wallingford. Building a 1,000,000 sq. foot facility and not having and/or releasing future tenants should also be alarming. One of the major assets of Wallingford is the small town and quiet charm it possesses. Allowing such a project with a few million dollars of tax revenue generation fundamentally changes Wallingford forever. Residents must get together and fight to oppose this plan. The town needs to take a stand against Calare Properties and represent the people WHO ARE THE TOWN. - Justin

Property should be put to better use than a warehouse. Too disruptive to neighboring property. Nature reserve area that should be preserved.

This is a beautiful nature reserve property that should be preserved for a much better use, especially since the impact it will have on adjacent property.

The scope of this project negatively impacts homes in the area, many of which were built before Bristol Myers Squibb was constructed. The site is clearly visible to homeowners on High Hill Road. Can engineers truly state with certainty that foundations and wells outside the 'blast zone' won't be affected? Will homeowners outside the 'blast zone' have recourse if there is damage to their wells/foundations? Will the town run city water lines available to all homeowners in the area if a certain number of homeowners' wells are affected? A 24/7 operation with 143 trailer stalls and 244 loading docks by tenants yet to be named will create round-the-clock air and noise pollution. Research Parkway is not designed to handle that volume of truck traffic. Allowing an entrance/exit at Carpenter Lane will push some of the traffic to High HiIll Road and Tammy Hill Road areas as vehicles use 'alternative' routes to head east on Route 68.

A warehouse is just a bad idea, how are they going to find a company to occupy, sorry they are too late for Amazon and FedEx. Just a bad idea. High hill resident area was here first. This is not like building a house next to an airport and saying the planes need to go.

I would not want this change to be happening in my neighborhood any more than the residents of High Hill Road do! Please rethink your proposals.

BMS was committed to responsible stewardship of its property. Let's not undo all they achieved with disruption to the property with blasting, draining ponds and filling in wetlands, and paving over green space, not to mention increased traffic, noise and light pollution, and emissions of climate-changing gases.

No special permit. They destroyed Spring Lake with the Bristol Myers build and never did anything to remedy the damage to satisfaction. The residents shouldn’t have to suffer through another build. Enough is enough.

The High Hill area has long been developed as a quiet residential community where the people who invested in their properties and built upscale homes should be entitled to the peace and quiet and quality of life a neighborhood like this should provide.

Surely this magnificent building can be reused in some way. It is incredibly wasteful to bulldoze it.

I oppose. 24- hour emissions will impact quality of life and health for asthma conditions.

Very concerned about the effect this type of property operation can have on the High Hill neighborhoods directly as well as traffic in general area!!

It would be highly unfair and harmful to area residents to impose an industrial complex harboring untold risks to our lives in by contaminating our environment and peaceful existence in our little neighborhood. Please keep us safe by rejecting the debacle of building what amounts to a truck terminal in our residential haven.
