Resident Opposition to 5 Research Parkway Special Permit

The proposed project is a truck terminal, and the Bristol Myers site is not zoned for that. Don't be fooled by those asserting that the project is a warehouse. A warehouse does not need 244 loading bays and 143 trailer stalls! No reasonable person could have imagined that this monstrosity would be built on their doorstep when they purchased their home.

The proposed project will do harm to our properties, and the environment!

It is so hard to believe that such a beautiful complex will be destroyed to allow something that will destroy the beautify of Wallingford. The new complex will be such an eye sore, destroying the environment and ruining neighborhoods, but mostly, not adding to our community. The trucks will be coming and going but not bringing in business to help our community. They will not be frequenting our stores because they will not be a part of Wallingford but one that will be destroying our roads and our environment. Too bad we didn't get Amazon; at least they had workers who would become part of the town. Who destroys beauty to put up concrete and rape the land! The town needs tax income, but this is not the proper business/use of the property.

Environmental Impact: The site includes wetlands and the Muddy River which feeds into the public drinking water supply at Mackenzie Reservoir. IDIOTS !!!! Do you even to to ask this??

Don’t want the noise nor do I want my well jeprodized

concerns with our wells,foundations,and noise.

It's hard to believe that some other use for this beautiful property can't be found. Covering 80% of the area with buildings is really unacceptable, and the potential for an adverse environmental impact is enormous.

This is a terrible idea. I dont want he noise light and possible pollution. Adding tractor trailers to Carpenter Ln will bring added problems. The intersection of Carpenter and Research Pkwy will not handle multiple TT making turns without disrupting traffic. Will they try to go to Northrop to get to the highway? That intersection is already bad. This will make it infinitely worse.

This project should go forward because it will create jobs for the town. Get over it !!

It’s residential!!!!

The truck traffic will be a nightmare, especially on Carpenter Lane, and the 24/7 noise unbearable--don't refrigeration trucks have to run all night?

Would be an on-going nightmare..water, air, noise, traffic, accidents, spills...Wrong place for this. We don't want to live in this town with this!

Had turbidity and who knows what when they built Bristol Myers. Water tests are a lot easier if you know "what " you are looking for. The 1500 foot pre testing is a joke , especially since the buildings coming down are only 52 feet from the Muddy River that runs into Spring lake in my neighborhood .

Project is not near me, but I appreciate the concern of my fellow Wallingford Chorus members.

An alternate plan is needed for the use of this property, one that is less intrusive. It might comprise a single warehouse and use the existing entrance on Research Parkway. One way or another this property will be developed. Blanket opposition will create more noise than positive results. A final point; why has there been no mention of the childcare facility that BMS built on the property? Might this not service future employees of the facility, whatever that may be?
