Tatum was the Best CFI, Always special times at the Airport. One Rainy day in 1979 I Cold Called Habersham Avation to inquire about flying lessons. Jim Answered the phone with that Gravely Voice, “ Habersham Aviation” and made me feel as if had known him for years.
The Airport was a Single Runway with 1 hanger and a 12’ single wide mobile home FBO, my 1st lesson was in the rain and with a cost of $5 per hour, 2.50 for the plane and 2.50 for the CFI/ Jim. I completed my Private Pilot’s License in 1981. I always gave Jim credit for giving me my pilot and selling skills that have served me well for 40 years. Please Honor Jim and Marlene 40 years of community service by naming the Airport after them both. Thanks, Tom

Jim taught me to fly while getting my private license and I'm now flying in the Air Force. Jim and Marvene invested their lives into that airport. It absolutely deserves to be renamed in honor of them.

The Tatums deserve this honor as they “were” the airport for as long as I can remember. James helped many folks get their pilots license. Please consider this request strongly then make the change!

Jim and Marvene were dedicated to the Habersham airport for so long, it's hard to be there without thinking of them. This would be a fitting honor.

I would love to see the Habersham County airport named after James (Jim) Tatum. He taught me how to fly safely, and was an inspiration to always become a better pilot. I miss his laugh!
