Although I don’t currently live there, I was lucky to know the Tatums. They WERE the airport from all accounts I’ve ever heard. This would be a fitting honor for them.

It makes perfect sense to name the airport after Mr. Tatum. Whose name comes to mind when you hear the words Baldwin Airport or Habersham County Airport? What comes to mind when you hear the names James and Marvene Tatum? Whose name comes to mind when you hear the words local flight instructor? Whose name comes to mind when asked who has spent the most hours at our hometown airport? Whose name comes to mind when asked who has devoted their life to making it better for others? Who greeted the most pilots and welcomed them to our town? If James Tatum doesn't come to your mind, I don't know whose would.!!! It makes PERFECT SENSE to name the airport after Mr. Tatum. He is the only one that deserves this honor!

The Tatums were at the airport seven day most weeks. I cannot talk about the Airport without remember that beautiful couple, yes it needs to carry their name.

As a life long resident of Habersham County I don't think of the Airport without thinking of the Tatum's and all they mean to the community.

As someone who grew up in Habersham, and was lucky enough to fly with Mr Tatum on a number of occasions…I can think of no greater honour than to rename AJR for Mr and Mrs Tatum.
