was privileged to see him and meet him several times, without doubt the most exciting , imperious, transcendent blues rock / rock blues, guitarist, singer, songwriter of his generation and unmatched in his versatility by very few in this particular gen' re

1974 my first rock-concert: Rory Gallagher. In my youth some people liked Frank Zappa and others liked Barcley James Harvest -- but all liked Rory Gallagher!

We visited Cork in June 2015, there was a free tribute to Rory Gallagher at the Oliver Plunkett bar (with a Rory Gallagher corner upstairs). We noticed shops in both Cork and Cobh displayed Rory's memorabilia, his spirit is very much alive in this part of Ireland. It will be a fitting tribute to the legend - I hope it happens ...

I saw Rory many times, the first time in Derry. He always gave a great show and deserves recognition.

i saw rory live on four occasions firstly in '71 at the rainbow and lastly around '83/4 on the pier at swanage, i've seen and heard many fine guitarist's. but none better than this man, and such a humble unassuming man, never thanked him for the pleasure i got from watching and listening to him, so yes, good idea, (he's more than worthy) rip.. Rory .
