Leave the name as Byrnes Rebels. I went there 85-86 school year but graduated elsewhere. I still have Rebel pride and know the Rebel Rouser we played when I was in the marching band. Love "MY SCHOOL". Leave the name and mascot as they are. It's not about hate. It's tradition. A rebel is someone who stands against adversity and goes against those doing wrong snd choose what's right. We need more of that in America. We need more rebels. I'm proud to be one. (Would have been class of 89).

No matter what or IF they rename them, they will ALWAYS be referred to as the Rebels-always!

Grandmother to a Byrnes soon to be Rebel...cannot believe all this going around...NAACP. do you want us to go back and erase History completely. For what. Some idiots that are irresponsible and have no respect...that want their 15 mints of fame...so lets go to a Black church...lets sit in with them. ..white dude. ..and then...get up and slaughter them. ..and be seen with the Confederate flag...history of SC and Charleston....lets just start our own riots..God graced their souls and all and they didnt start this black n white crap all over again. ...we are reversing in time..why? The world in which we live in is getting ridiculous, you cant go back and erase history, changing the name is stupid and wont do anything!! NAACP needs to go sit down somewhere and figure out what they are going to do about "black on black" crime. I am an African American woman, the issue of race is getting out of hand!!

It's time the Naacp stops demanding,and if they want changes for their people how about educating them,and stop trying to tell them it's okay to demand and working on a solution the make their race a better race.
