In all honesty it shouldn't be changed cause all it is....is a name it ain't like the rebel flag is flying through the whole school it shouldn't be change it's been the same since the 1960's and it shouldn't be changed now especially just cause one person said so and especially when that person went to the damn school at that I'm a rebel graduate and proud to be GO REBELS!!!!!!!!!

The REBELS name for James F. Byrnes Teams is just a nickname that has been with the School for over fifty years. It's not racist, it's just a teams nickname. Please don't make the school that I Graduated from in 1971 change it's NAME an loss it's identity.

They already did the mascot change in '91 so now they want to take the word "rebel"? What do they want Byrnes Swords? Absolutely ridiculous.

Alumni from 1980. As a child, I could not wait to get to high school and attend James F Byrnes. I'm so proud to have graduated from J.F.B. . It would be devastating for my heritage to be changed. I think of a Rebel as a ," go getter, never gives up and faithful till the end". My definition has no negitive undertones and is for all .The name doesn't need to be changed..

I stand firmly beside my Rebel children and grandson,and I pray for peace and safety of all ,Let Jesus bind the mouths and hands of any violence,in His name,Amen
