The new homes being built in Ramapo are high priced homes with proportionate tax rates. These homes are generally sold to younger or middle aged persons with growing salaries. The people who should benefit from lowered taxes are older homeowners whose taxes have significantly increased over the years and many who have to sell their homes and/or leave the county because of the high tax rates which are already impacted by so many residents being exempt from Ramapo taxes. We already have more than our share of people who are using our services and not paying taxes.
We need to make Ramapo appealing to new residents but also and more important put efforts into keeping our residents.

This is a JOKE there is no problem bringing in new development to Ramapo. In reality it’s being over developed and no incentives are needed. Everyone - new construction or not - needs to be taxed.

Why would you expect homeowners here to pick up the costs for new home owners. If you can't afford to live in Ramapo go somewhere else.

No more tax exemption. Our town needs the money. Let's tax all religious facilities too. Enough is enough.

Shame on anyone who represents all of us yet endorses this! We are broke and besides we do not need to encourage new building in our town.
