Reinstate the changes made to the graduation program to allow Regina Public Schools Students to have a full graduation banquet

every graduate needs to experience this!

Please don't take this away from the graduates, this is a big accomplishment for them as well as their family. Even if you are a low income family putting $10.00 to $20.00 a month away will be enough to attend a banquet for these special people.

I don't think it's fair that they decided to do this to the graduates, everyone should be able to experience it!!

The banquet is a tradition. It is part of the whole celebration. The "reasons" for cancellation were questionable and there was no public discussion about it. This is not how this should have been done. Like the students say - there are solutions!

students have worked so hard for the past 13 years. This is their special day, don't take it away from them. We all look foreward to celebrating with our kids the accomplishments they have achieved.

Let these kids have there grad. My daughter's in grade 11 and working hard so she can celebrate her grad.

Our children and we as parents wait for this special day! We pay a lot in taxes actually the highest in Canada we deserve to have something special to reward our children for giving it their all!

Replacing grad banquets with proms for “students only” is an unfortunate decision. Grade 12 graduation is important for parents and families as well as for the students themselves. The banquet atmosphere with students, friends, families and teachers felt more celebratory than the cap and gown ceremony. As a parent, I am disappointed that we will not be able to share this experience with our younger child. It was very exciting for us to be part of the evening for our oldest child’s graduation this past June.

Any decision re the cancellation of graduations for Grade 12 students should have had input from students themselves, not just the school board! Fundraisers would solve the issue of money & would give the students a goal.

Bring it back for all the grads. They deserve it. It's not a money issue or safety issue. The parents are with the grads. It's pure selfishness on the behalf of the school board. FUND RAISE, FUND RAISE, FUND RAISE. It what we did to help with supper and after grad. So easy. I have a future grad in 6 yrs. Hopefully he will have the amazing day I did.

I believe this is the least we can do for our students who have spent 12 years of their life working hard to be sucessful in life. I also worry about increased parties with alcohol if the grad banquet is done away with. Please reinstate the grad banquet for grade 12 graduates.

Students work hard all of high-school to be able to dress up and celebrate with family, friends, and classmates. There's programs that help with those who can't afford nice dresses, theres second stores and the sears bargain center with nice cheap dresses. Schools and students can fundraise to pay for the event so that tickets are cheap or even free.
