You can't spring this on kids who have been looking forward to this for 4 years! If you implement change. Implement it with some warning. So disappointing to all.

Its supposed to be a celebration for the graduate to share with their family. Hard to do if the family isnt allowed to be there to celebrate it with them.

The grad banquet was the highlight of my graduation and it is applaing that anyone would think to remove a huge part in the final step of highschool!

It is absurd an unacceptable that we have become so afraid to exclude anyone that a traditional right of passage has been scrapped. This is a decades old tradition that RPSB has no business sticking their nose into, and like nearly every major change they have instituted in the last 5 years, one that is poorly thought out and negatively affects thousands more students than it supposedly "helps". Blanket policies don't work, schools and areas are different, when is the RPSB going to listen to the people that actually attend these schools?

This is ridiculous. Why would we just have a cap and gown and no banquet. It's the last time that some of us are going to see each other for awhile and some forever. Don't take this chance away from anybody.

When you graduate, it is something to be proud of, something to celebrate. Why take away a graduate banquet?!? As someone who never got to actually graduate high school, that's the part that I regret the most! Not being able to go to my grad banquet and dress up! Not fair for the students that have worked hard for it to not receive it!!

I as well as many other high school students agree that highschoos should still have a grad banquet as we have worked hard to graduate. Yes it can get costly and things happen but it doesn't mean we just shouldn't be allowed one!
