Reinstate the changes made to the graduation program to allow Regina Public Schools Students to have a full graduation banquet

The banquet are just about celebrating your child's accomplishments it celebrating their friends accomplishments too. If the banquet is taken away it gives parents less opportunity to share in their children's friends accomplishments too. There are so many ways to solve the issues put forth. The are blanket excuses for something they are hiding.

Unfair. There is ways to make it work for everyone.

this is absolutely ridiculous they should not b able to take this away from the kids! And I agree there will b a lot of people switching there kids to the catholic school system because of it!

I agree with this petition in that the reasons outlined by the school board for discontinuing the graduation banquet have many solutions and compromises other than completely cancelling the banquet. It is unfair to cancel it without input from parents and students. My eldest child has already graduated so her younger sisters know what they will be missing. I completely disagree with the decision to cancel this family event and will do whatever I can within my power to overturn this ridiculous decision including my vote in the next civic election.

This is ridiculous

This would be complete and utter BS to say least. I would be SO disappointed if I couldn't attention a ceremony for both of my kids grade 12 graduations.

I would like to go my last child graduation banquet and I have done that for all my 10 kids .... at all of them their had to be over a 1000 proud parents and grand parent and other family member .......the ones that change that part should think back to theirs and remember the look on their proud family member

Don't change tradition

I understand the need to balance the budget. but between cutting grads lunchroom talks cutting scc budgets you are taking the fun out of school the social aspect of it. there has to be a solution even if it putting it back on scc to fundraise for it.

Poor choice...guess I'll be looking into catholic school system as I am catholic but had liked the public school system better...why do families that can afford it get punished for families that choose not to save...

This is one opportunity for students to dress as adults and act like adults. Very good for their self esteem. Opposed to tuxedos and $500 grad dresses and limos. Could and should be toned down some.

This was disappointing to hear a decision like this was made without the opinions and views from the students and parents. This is a moment in time that they will never get to relive. Memory making moments that have now been robbed from these graduates. I hope this will be reconsidered and more discussion will take place.

Ridiculous. There are other options other than pulling the plug on a timeless tradition of a high school graduation banquet. How about fundraising if everyone is so concerned about costs.

I think it is very unfair to take away what our children have worked towards for the last 13 years! I have put three of my four kids through school and my last one is to graduate this year! The school boad nor principles have the right to take this away from our kids! I am sure that they all had a grad and that goes for there children too. This is abolute garbage!
