Reinstate the changes made to the graduation program to allow Regina Public Schools Students to have a full graduation banquet

I'm a low income family. We know this is coming...thus we save for it.

The kids need to celebrate this great achievement!

Brung back graduations celebrations!

This is a once in a lifetime event for our kids. Never will all attend, but at least they have the choice to.

abdolutely ridiculous! Why take away that one special night the kids look forward to? They worked hard to get where they got... Why take away their celebration?

Not having a graduation is totally unfair. Every kid in highschool looks forward to graduating

Just another short sighted ill conceived plan of the RPS. Enough already! Lets start putting the students first. I recommend a token fee for the students of $20 and the rest paid by sponsors or fund raising. I know my company would donate 500 to 1,000 dollars each year towards a grad dinner, awards ceremony, guest speaker and dance. Sponsorship could allow us to encourage these graduating students to attend secondary school and have jobs back here in the community.

Let the kids celebrate completing and surviving the last 12 years of their lives.

This is ridiculous. My sister deserves to have a banquet. She's worked so hard for her education, the least the school board could do is give her class a banquet.

Fundraise if we can't afford it! Students are proving themselves that they would work hard for grad, let them!

Instead of removing the event why can't changes just be made to make the banquet more affordable for families who can't afford it?

83 years in Regina, 4 generations of family in the Regina Public school system. This is unacceptable.

Also outraging GRANDPARENTS, what right do they have without public approval seeing as the public supports schools in their taxes they should have a voice in a decision like this.

I think it is a rite of passage for a grad twelve student to have a last banquet with their peers because it will be the last time they see each other. They spend all those years looking forward to graduation and the banquet and festivities!!!!

What more do you want to take away form the kids

This is a very important moment for a grad. I can see limiting the amount some of the girls spend on their dress etc but the banquet needs to stay!
