Reinstate the changes made to the graduation program to allow Regina Public Schools Students to have a full graduation banquet

This is the reason students are excited to graduate ! Taking this away is totally unacceptable !

This needs to be stopped

This is a tradition and important milestone celebration.

If Regina Public Schools do not reinstate the banquet as a tax payer I can support another school system and suggest others do as well. Touch there pocket book and see what happens....

Some students work extremely hard to achieve Grad & need to be rewarded!

Students need to be celebrated.

There was no thought to doing this. Although my kids are grown adults, I know how important graduation was to them and to myself as a parent. And I think this is unjustified to take this away from these kid.

I would be happy to sponsor a students ticket for grad!! I mean, I realize it can get expensive, but ppl don't need to get carried away! But that's up to them! I was a broke grade 12 student but I managed to pull it off!!

My daughter is a grade 11 student this year and I've already been thinking about her grad moments... Buying a dress together, our family pictures etc.. This is a shame. I graduated in 1999 and worked multiple bingos in my hometown to pay for my banquet tickets. Offering a fundraising option should at least be considered

I am a stay at home Mom whose family has been very vocal about the importamce education. Being a one income family has made us make some choices about the style of living we are able to afford. That being said, we are aware that graduation, especially for a girl is expensive and are and will be prepared to fundraise and sacrifice wherever possible so that when our daughter is ready to enjoy the right of passage she has earned with her hard work and determination, we can happily provide that time honored and earned tradition for her. We feel that you are not only striping the student from their evening in the spotlight, but also that pride filled night of celebration from the families as well.

Give the kids something to look forward to as a reward for all their hard work!!

Most ridiculous decision. My banquet was the best part of my highschool career and one final time to spend all together with classmates and their family.

This is absolutely ridiculous. No other words needed.

Good luck class 2016.. You work hard to achieve your diploma and deserve a night to celebrate and remember all your life.

Stupid decision!!! Most kids look forward to this...the banquet is more memorable than the cap and gown!! Please bring it back before the end of the school year....my son is in grade 12! He's going to be devastated by this outrageous decision!!!

Better supervision I think is needed but all on all they need a graduation.

Not happy! My daughter has been looking forward to getting her dress all of her high school years. Some of the girls will have already purchased their gowns. Will you reimburse them? Will you reimburse the parents for the gas they used...if they had to drive out of town to get it? What if they needed to stay in a hotel while they were out of town? And meals?? You could be asking for a bigger bill then just the banquets! Can't you just give a certain amount of funds for each school to use for their banquet and if the parents/students/schools want more, they can fundraiser for it?

I have a daughter in grade 10 and in 2 years she will be graduating. I find this very unfair for the kids who have remained in school getting their education with the high hopes of all the fun things that go along with graduating. There are alot of different things that could be done by fundraiser so hopefully this can get reversed. Whoever this decision rests upon needs to think really hard. Very disappointed parent
