Reinstate the changes made to the graduation program to allow Regina Public Schools Students to have a full graduation banquet

They deserve a full grad banquet. This is a major high light of their life and looked forward to it all year.

It was unfair of the Regina Public School Board to impose this restriction on students. Graduation marks an important rite of passage. These students have grown up together and have shared many important life events. They should have the opportunity to celebrate this milestone in their lives before parting ways and embarking on the beginning of their adult lives. There are many options to reduce costs if that is truly a concern. If the school board does not reverse their decision, I will absolutely be switching my property taxes to support the Regina Catholic School Board instead. I encourage others who feel strongly about this issue to do the same if they are in a position to (within the limits of the law - as a non-practising Catholic, I have some leeway), and to write to the Regina Public School Board to let them know why you are redirecting your property taxes. Allowing students to fund raise in order to lower the cost for every family would be more fair then punishing every student by deleting a celebration they have been earning over the last 13 years.

This has nothing to do with money or liability. This is the same reasons they took away Halloween, Christmas, Easter etc. Its because some cultures can't or won't participate. Ramadan being one of the reason.

I feel that it was a unfair decision made without the input of the students and the parents involved. I'm sure the MAJORITY of the students, would like to participate in a full graduation ceremony, and that they all deserve to do so.

This is a life lesson. Throughout life not everyone will be able to participate in everything...we need to teach this to our children. When they get out into the real world they will have this understanding.

Over half of my life has been spent in a classroom so I can get my education. When high school is over a little party/celebration would be perfect before continuing in more school.

I totally disagree with the Regina Public School decision. These young adults have worked so hard and deserve to celebrate their accomplishments as has been the tradition. Very disappointed in how the Regina Public School addressed this matter.

Such an exciting time that kids work so hard for. They should be able to celebrate with their friends and family. Let the students come up with some fun, affordable ideas.
