Stop the increase of heavy vehicles through our village. We already experience considerable noise and pollution from the existing traffic and an increase would be intolerable.
We are a village NOT a thoroughfare for heavy goods traffic at all hours of the day. If the company needs to expand its operation they should find appropriate premises with suitable access rather than requesting an increase to hours for their vehicles to benefit their own operation but to have a negative impact on the local community.
This proposal is to the huge detriment of local people. There is no benefit to us - just increased pollution and noise.

The roundabout is already sooo dangerous and the speed limits on the roads through Markfield are a joke. Accidents just waiting and already have happened!!!

I appose the extended hours as the road is already at breaking point. I live just off ratby lane and my parents live on the ratby lane. The road has already become so busy over the last few years that it is now dangerous to try and enter and exit their drive. They care for my children and I fear that if the proposals are accepted I will be unable to take my children to my parents house safely. I also walk my children to school and cross the ratby lane. There is no crossing and a narrow crossover with keep left bollards. The road is so narrow that we can now normally only cross half way which with two young children and a pushchair is a scary experience with very little room. If the lorries continue I fear again for my children's safety and my own. My daughter also has breathing difficulties and the increase in dust and pollution with effect her for the worse. Other major roads can be used to access the site and should be used not a little country lane through a village.

The noise and air pollution around this area is already so high due to the amount of lorries that pass through. Any more lorries will have a even more negative impact on people's health and wellbeing. The constant movement of lorries on the a50 and around our villages affects our rest in the evenings and sleep, not only the day and our weekends.
Please, no more lorries!! Let us have our rest and reduce our stress of driving in and out of peak times.

This really is going too far in terms of a proposed increase in operating hours for HGV traffic In the Markfield area.
There is already far too much HGV traffic on these local roads on a daily basis. It’s clearly all about money for Poundstretcher, with no consideration for the safety and well being of residents and other local road users.
Please see sense and dismiss any proposal for extending operating hours and/or generating additional HGV traffic than currently is the case. There is far too much already!

This proposal will have a real impact on our quality of life The wagons are going to be 7 days a week and bank holidays sitting in our gardens will be miserable the noise and pollution alone never mind the fact that we bought our property in a village and roads surrounding cannot cope with the size and quantity of increased traffic this will cause This is the second time we ave gone through this process and if the site requires such expansion then it needs to relocate to an Industrial Estate with the info structure appropriate
This by far exceeds the movement that Desford Tubes had on our villages and it is not fair to compare Poundstretcher to them

We have lived at Field Head for 30 years and the traffic noise from the surrounding road network has massively increased over the years. The proposed increase in HGV movements to and from the Poundstretcher depot will have a serious detrimental impact on the Field Head environment.

Our house shakes everytime one of these lorries go by, they mount the pavement occassionly on what is a narrow road, with a 40 mile an hour limit and god forbid one of them should ever hit a pedestrian by mounting the pavement, or with their wing mirror. They should not be allowed to go through Ratby Lane, Markfield, but via the M1/A50/A46 major roads only.

The country lanes being used are not suitable for the heavy lorry traffic currently being experienced, so dangerous and too narrow in parts. Please let common sense confirm that further heavy traffic would be madness. The speed and size of the lorries as they head towards you and squeeze past you is frightening.

These are country lanes used by Pedestrians,Horse riders,cyclists ,cars and farm vehicles. Far too narrow for big lorries. Very Dangerous!

Absolutely no more lorries please. I was pulling out of countryman way a couple of weeks ago and a great big articulated lorry (which wasn’t there when I pulled out) hurtled up behind me and neatly didn’t stop. I had my three year old daughter in the car. The thought of it still gives me nightmares. The estate is residential. Whether we have more lorries or not the speed limit should be reduced to 30 anyway
