As a former technician, I can honestly say that this is absurd. The technicians should not have to take a cut out of there living because then manufacturer made a mistake. If you want trust worthy technicians to keep Kia on the rise and a trust worthy name I would highly suggest to pay them properly. You take care of them and they will take care of you in the long run. I believe the manufacturer fails to remember that the techs servicing and repairing these vehicles is just as big of part of keeping a name as the designer and seller. Lose your technicians and lose your name.

It’s not the technician fault that the engine fail we should be paid the 8 plus hours. We have a lot invest in tools and spend a lot of time at the shops taking care for your customers. If you have not noticed it’s very hard to find new technician so if you keep cut labor you want have any to service your vehicle and with out us you go out of business. You can sell the products but there no technician or not enough it’s going to hurt KIA.
I have been working on KIA’s for 15 years and I see it every day getting harder to find technician due to the low pay, and most do not want to work flat rate . I put in about 55 to 60 hours a week to turn about 45 hours so now you cut labor so now I will have to work more hours or turn less hours and this is way very few guys want to become technician and I would say about half the new technician that come in the business will find other work with in 5 years so that only cost the deal ship and Kia more money to train new technician instead maybe you should rethink the labor cut and also come up with a new pay plan to pay technician

Stop taking our labor for faulty design.the fact that technicians are taking the hit for poor engineering and management of production is not the fault of the technician. I applaud Kia for stepping up for its fault but in no way is it fair to the technician doing the work to fix this problem. If anything cut the rate that the dealership is paid. Find a different avenue to help with cost other than taking from the laborers doing the actual work.

This is bullcrap! Technicians deserve way more than what they get, then to nearly cut it in half is crazy. Unless you want a massive walk out on your hands PAY THE TECH FAIR! I’m an advisor and this if going to effect myself as well WHEN I DON’T HAVE TECHS turning wrenches.. DO BETTER KIA

We wonder why we can't keep good technicians and stuff gets done halfway and vehicle's have thermal event's! This is embarrassing! I've worked for Kia for 16 years now. And while nobody else want's to work for them for just this exact reason they want to push even more out the door! You get what you pay for! And this industry is dying off anyway do to poor wages and knowledgeable people falling short so i wouldn't keep pushing it!

Looks like the best thing to do would be to organize a mass strike. No engines replaced until you are compensated appropriately. I would suggest that you are sure you can hold out until it is fixed if you are going to start though.

Labor times need to be based on real conditions. Not a car in the stall but a car towed in that requires to be pushed in the shop. Put on the rack. Ran through all worse case scenario

change it back!!!! I have seriously consider going to another brand after this! Why punish me with low labor time, for a engine I didn’t design?

The initial times were really not fair to begin with, now these updated labor times are not even close to being fair. We SKILLED, TRAINED, and CERTIFIED technicians are keeping these vehicles on the road. Nobody else can say this
