Can say with 100% certainty that once business picks back up after the holidays i will be leaving the hyundai brand. And i will definitely be steering every entry level that i talk to from UTI and ATI away from the brand as well. Crossing my fingers i can find a job with toyota again if not i can still go lexus. Atleast they take good car of their techs. Especially if they are MDT certified which is the platinum master equivalent. That being said im still signing the petition in hopes that they correct it for the remaining techs that will not be leaving.

Hyundai and Kia engineers are the ones at fault, so why low ball the hard working techs that fix the engineers mistakes and we don't make anywhere close to what the engineers make so take they pay from them not us.

With labor times dropping like this, it makes it almost impossible to make a living in this industry. I’ve seen really good techs leave this field for this very reason, I may be next. V6 timing chains pay 6.1 hrs now, how is that fair? Losing money/time on a job is the worst part, times must be fair!

My faith in the Hyundai brand is pretty much gone. With the complete lack of diagnostic time for the bulk of the labor operations in the LTS and shrinking labor times, I can say with absolute surety that 2021 will mark my departure from this brand. As a 24 year veteran, I have seen Hyundai go from a bottom of the barrel car company, which ironically cared a great deal for its employees, become a major player in the automotive world. With that lofty achievement it seems that you have forgotten what it was that helped elevate your brand to its current position in the market. One could argue that it was innovation, design or marketing, but in truth it’s the technicians. You can’t sell what you can’t fix. That will become evident soon enough. This particular cut in labor times is simply the last straw in a downward spiral of insulting labor times and increasingly ridiculous hoops that we are being forced to jump through to just get the job done. Now that you’ve come full circle and managed to reach the bottom of the barrel again, at least in terms of powertrain quality, maybe you could start down the pathway to caring for your employees again....

They should not be dropped i have personally seen these engines get done and dropping the hours that low hurts the technicians bc it does take longer the 5 hrs

I believe this is unfair considering We are doing even more work and diagnosis to get these engines approved. And we get less time ???
