In Washington state the bottom quintile of income earners pay about 17% of their gross income in sales and other taxes and they don't have the option of bullying their way out of paying them.

Amazon has ruined seattle and has made it unaffordable for people who have lived here for decades. They need to be taxed and cannot hold our politicians hostage. This city is for the people. Not the corporation.

We should not be tolerating corporate extortion of our city for trying to fund the housing we desperately need.

Outrageous that $5.6 billion in profits isn’t enough for Bezos and Amazon executives. Any politician who claims to be progressive should stand up publicly against this corporate extortion.

We all need to stand up to the rich and the corporations that purchase our legislators. NO MORE.

Companies should not own cities. Companies should not hold cities hostage with threat of revoking jobs. Especially not companies that have just gotten hundreds of million dollars in tax breaks from the federal government. This is a low move by one of the most profitable companies in the world. Expected, but low.
